Readiness usually means four things: a clear description of your work, an understanding of the requirements, the documents you will be asked for, and enough time to review before submitting.
Write your description once, plainly, and reuse it. Most applications ask for the same substance in different words.
Leave time between completing and submitting. A single reread catches most avoidable problems.
